Complaint Review: Joe Contarino Dba Contry Homes

Bought a house from this guy the middle of 2004. Since then it has been nothing but a nightmare.

1) All the rooms have major cracks in the drywall.
2) Frost builds up on the baseboards.
3) Basement floor has excessive cracks.
4) 6"x6" support posts in basement are bowing, yes this guy used wood posts (we think there is a overload issue).
5) The main support beam was bowing (their so called fix was to jack up the house 1/2" to 3/4" and use shims, this is the only time thay came out)
6) Some of the walls are not square.

This is only a partial list and we know that some settling is normal but these problems are nothing but normal.

Their response is that everything is cosmetic and they will come out at the end of 1 year and "fix" it, I mean put a band-aid on it. I'm sure they will show up with alot of duct tape. How can you fix it when you don't know what the problem is? They have admitted that they don't know what is going on.

I guarantee that we will NEVER buy another Contarino or Contry home. And I feel sorry for anyone that has or is planning on buying one of these homes.
