Joe was hired to renovate the interior of a home in Rhode Island.  He agreed to a fixed amount to do the entire job in a approx six week window.  He understaffed the job from the start and used poor quality subcontractors to perform the plumbing, sheet rock, electrical, etc...

I was on the job for the first six weeks to oversee his progress, which was poor at best.   At the end of the six weeks I left him to complete the project in what I was told would be "a few more weeks".
Two months later he was still working on the project and asking that his subs get paid for their work.
He represented that the renovation was "coming along and nearly done".  at one point I refused to pay his subs any more until he finished the job completely.  He abandoned the project.  I returned to find he had done very little of the overall project.  I had to hire virtually every trade again to come in and redo most of his work.   He is not a professional nor someone who can be trusted.

He had previously done work for me including installing appliances at the same address.   Shortly after they were installed all the appliances were stolen.  He was one of the prime suspects in the crime, unfortunately the police could not prove he did it.

I would not use him for even the simplest of tasks on any project.
