Complaint Review: Joe's Custom Homes llc

Joe's Custom Homes llc and Joe's Construction llc General Contractor Consumer Fraud!!! houston Texas

Joe Perez of Joe's Custom Homes was contracted at a funding closing to construct 3 townhomes for me here in Houston, Tx.

He submitted a budget of $781k and signed legal documents at closing on February 18, 2015. On March 17, 2015 Joe Perez

came back and submitted a higher budget of $887k for the same work. Basically he tried to price gouge me. His explanation

was the foundation would cost more money yet the foundation cost was the same for both budgets!! I wouldn't accept this

egregious ploy and he began work on the project. After a month he had the underground electrical work and drainage sewer

work done. Then nobody showed up on the jobsite for a week straight. After pleading with him via phone calls, emails and

text messages on April 23rd he handed me a termination notice on the project. Basically he quit the project and left me

hanging because he was too busy on his personal project on West 24th Street in the Houston Heights. I informed him

anyone stepping foot on the property would subsequently be trespassing. The next day he had subcontractors

come and remove 22 loads of dirt at a cost of $7,140 which he attempted to invoice me for. I informed him he terminated

the project and that this work was performed illegally and I would not pay it. It took me a month to contract a new builder

for the project at a cost of $100k higher. At this point I have filed a civil lawsuit for damages against Joe Perez and Joe's

Custom Homes. I would refrain from ever doing business with Joe Perez ever as he commits consumer fraud, price

gouges and doesn't perform the work he is contracted for.

Once again hiding behind the minority card? This has to do with business and nothing else. Porter subcontracted out to two different companies who both defaulted. Yet you still didn't attempt to finish the work. Blatant lies in your rebuttal on a number of points. First off - Jose was onsite completely by himself. What was he monitoring? An empty jobsite? You then hired David Beal from Empire Construction, not David Charles. Who is a convicted felon in Montgomery County. So you subcontract work out to convicted felons without vetting them. Horrible business practices. David was not in contact throughout the project with myself nor did I ever hire him. Porter hired him as a subcontractor and he didn't perform the work. Neither Scott Coleman nor Porter supervised his work as normal business practice. Then you attempted to hire a third subcontractor. Does Porter ever directly do any work or just subcontracts every job? Then you make excuses and complain about the subcontractors you hire. You have no integrity. Pinnacle Construction gave Empire a new contract as the prime contractor - not Mr. Solari. I never gave David Beal more money. Another lie is Mr. Solari called Porter to finish the project. It never happened. You took money and subcontracted work to shoddy people all the time keeping the money for yourself. You also failed to mention that in a phone conversation you stated Pinnacle owed you money for other projects and you demanded to be paid half upfront for Camden. So basically you kept the money for money owed on other projects without even attempting to do the work on camden. You never spoke with me after the jobsite was butchered by Empire. I fired Pinnacle and filed a pending lawsuit. I will be filing a lawsuit against Porter in the future after the outcome with Pinnacle. In addition I have the notice from South Street Steel Company along with the email stating you filled out the customer info on Camden incorrectly so you wouldn't have to pay for the rebar of $7,500. You used an address of 3523 bastrop st which doesn't exist. I welcome a lawsuit from Porter. Under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act the damages will be tripled for me as the plaintiff when I file against Porter.

In 30 years of business you claim this is the only blemish. Here are other court cases in Harris County alone filed against Porter Int'l as a matter of record:

11/14 United Rentals v Porter Int'l

12/14 Hand and Wrist Center of Houston v Porter Int'l

08/15 R+S Concrete v Porter Int'l

09/15 Builders Post Tension v Porter Int'l

This doesn't include Montgomery County in which you are based.

The truth always comes out and I look forward to it.
