Shively is messy, a slacker, uncommunicative, and an amateur at best. Shively has no detail orientation at all, everything is
sloppy, and he stole our supplies (that we paid for separately!) His phony business is merely a scam. He leaves stains on the carpet, scratches & scuffs on walls, and hides his mess in your basement or under your porch instead of actually cleaning up after himself.
Joe Shively offered us a cash payment plan: half upfront, and half when the job is finished.
We agreed.
After paying just over half, Joe didn't finish any work. He stopped coming to the house and was non-existent. After texting and calling, he finally contacted us to say he was scared that we weren't going to pay him. He wanted all the money now before he finished the jobs. To show him we were good for our money, we paid him ($950.00). After that, Joe never came back to the house to finish the work. We called him for 2 weeks, e-mailed, and texted. Finally, we showed up at his house (when we knew he was home) and he never answered the door. We saw our wood and trim supplies sitting outside his house, but we left them there because we only have a car. We left a note in his mailbox saying we wanted our house key back. A couple days later we found our key in an envelope, in our mailbox, and we never heard from Joe again.
He stole over $950.00 from us. We paid him $1,150.00 upfront, and the $950.00 was to cover the remainder of the work Joe still had yet to do. There is a blog about Joe online, and a lady has commented on it that Joe scammed her as well. Looks like a similar story.
