Complaint Review: John - Across America Moving and Storage

My Wife and I recently moved from California to North Carolina.We contracted Across America Moving and Storage."What a mistake".The furniture was picked up and we were told the price would be higher because of the increased weight.We were given a Binding price which was $4000 over the original estimate.

The furniture was stored in North Hollywood by Across America Moving and Storage and we took delivery December 21st.We was informed upon arrival in North Carolina by the driver that access to our home was impossible with his eighteen wheeler and we would have to pay an extra $1700 to have it shuttled in a smaller truck and hire additional help."Rember the Binding price".This did'nt matter and we were told pay up or the furniture would be put in storage. The extra help turned out to be four Hispanic workers,three of which spoke no English.

The unloading stared and nearly all of our furniture was ruined by water damage.It turns out the moving truck had a leaking roof and all our furniture got soaked.A lot of the furniture was antiques and will be very expensive to repair.

I will be contacting The Attorney Generals Office in California seeking there help in this matter.Please a word of warning about this company,they are crooks and will rip you off.John who I think is the Manager is the biggest crook for this company.
