John Beck, Mentoring of America and Strategic Financial Services 100% Money Back Guarantee was the bait Van Nuys, California
I was interested in the infomercials by John Beck and how I could make money on buying foreclosed properties. It was a new area for me, but I was up to taking a look at it. I called the televised number and passed on my credit card number.
Shortly after I got my discs, I received a phone call from Mentoring of America. They informed me of the "extended/advanced" version of the John Beck program only offered to a select few. As we talked, the rep said I possessed the qualities they were looking for as "success stories" to put on TV. I was assured MOA coaches would work hard with me so that I would be successful. Again, I passed on my credit card number.
The next morning, I had buyers remorse. I called and faxed in a letter indicating I was no longer interested and that I wanted my credit card credited of $12,675. A few days later, MOA called me trying to talk me back in. I declined stating it was a lot money and that I had gotten online and found some very unhappy customers of John Beck. I quoted one individual's statement and the rep replied,"If he's that unhappy, we'll refund his money." I didn't cave in.
The next day I received yet another MOA phone call. A rep said,"________ ,we are so convinced that you will be a success with us that I have in my hand a 100% money back guarantee letter already signed by my manager." He then proceeded to read the guarantee which I still possess. He continued with," ___________________, you have nothing to lose. If you don't make any money you get all your money back. If you make money, which is what we want, you won't need your money back. __________, this is a win-win situation." It was only because of this written guarantee that I agreed to continue.
Then, lo and behold, here comes Strategic Financial Services of Nevada with their hand out. They offered the "necessary legal services" that I needed to have when I started buying up property. Without them, I was told I would rack up enormous amounts of legal service fees. With them, it was an unending amount of help I would be provided with. I feel they knew that I knew nothing of the law and they took advantage of me.
I worked extremely hard completing ALL assignments. I ended up having two coaches because the first was totally inadequate. He wouldn't formulate his lessons around what I needed help with. Nevertheless, I completed the course and received a "Certificate of Completion".
I made no money. I sincerely tried, but it just didn't work. Now part II of this story.
I wrote in and called multiple documented times. I was told that I had to send in a copy of the guarantee as well as"proof" of completing the assignments. I did just that. In fact, it took a small box to send it all in. Karen Johnson, the person whom I was told was the director of the refund department, side-stepped me over and over and over again. The reps I spoke to were always friendly, but provided me with "She's in an all day training" or "She's in a closed door conference" and so on.
After a long and drug out process, she finally sent me a letter on February 7, 2011 stating that I had not sent in the necessary paperwork, but she was going to graciously give me a mere $3,500. To this date, I have not received the money. I don't want the $3,500 I want the $12,675 I originally paid John Beck. Strategic Financial cleaned me out of a few thousand.
This whole nightmare started in 2009 and I have not nor will I give up. I was PROMISED a 100% money back guarantee and I expect that guarantee to be upheld. If I had not been presented with this guarantee, I would not have re-signed with John Beck.
John Beck, Mentoring of America and Strategic Financial Services are a wicked and corrupt trio.
