John Benton - International Sweepstakes ripoff Toronto Ontario Canada
I received a telelphone call from John Benton, claiming to be a lawyer and he was calling as I had won a sweepstake of $250,000.00 and that at sometime I had filled out an entry with International Sweepstakes. He told me that they represented ove 80 magazine company.s He told me that I had to send a $960 Deposit of Insurance and to go to Wal-Mart and send it via MoneyGram and send my information and to name a different receiver that didn't have my last name. This was to be sent to Vancouver Canada and when I asked what else, he said that was all. He stated that in 4 business days a courier would arrive with my check and a tax receipt showing the taxes were paid. I was to keep quiet about this so that people wouldn't come here or call me for money help. I wasn;'t to notify any financial institutions either as they would have to notify the government about taxes. I have tried to find out about this to check on it and of course I never would send that money to Vancouver, Canada. He is suppose to call me back today at 4 p.m. to see if I can get the money. How stupid does he think that I am.

I need a good laugh. I would enjoy getting one of these calls. I would have a
great time" with the caller.
You should ask him since when does a lawyer hawk magazines subscriptions on the phone. LOL! Hilarious!
I'm glad you aren't gonna fall for this silliness. A lot of people would/will unfortunately.
