I wish I never put my trust in John Crumpton. I had been seeing another dentist during 2007. I had some tooth pain back in December, 2007. My dentist was out of town, and John Crumpton was seeing his patients. He seemed very nice, at first.
I made the horrible mistake of switching to his office and trusting him. Over the years 2008 into 2009, he kept finding new filling to replace. I do not have any dental insurance, and am a senior citizen. It was difficult to pay for these "fillings", but I wanted to save my teeth. In hindsight, I should have walked away and gotten a 2nd opinion on these fillings.
I was in for a routine cleaning in early 2009. His hygenist blurted out. YOU HAVE A CAVITY! I asked WHERE? She said it was in one tooth he (meaning Crumpton) wanted to pull out. He came to look at it, and said he could put a filling in. I told him, that I did not want the tooth pulled under no circumstances.
In March, 2009, I went into his office. He began drilling into the tooth. Then he stepped away for 20 minutes, after taking an x-ray. He then said, THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TOOTH STRUCTURE TO FILL. I WILL HAVE TO PULL THE TOOTH.
I was in shock and very upset. He pulled this large tooth and left me with a big hole. In hindsight, I should have ran out the door.
I believe he did this deliberately, so I would have to spend money on implants or fixed bridge work.
A few days later, I asked for my file. I never went to him again.
I asked other dentists what it would cost to repair what he did to me. They all said, AOUT $5,000.
I did not have this money.
I sent this dentist a letter asking for $5,000 - since he caused this harm to me. Never got a reply.
I tried calling local attorneys, but they either had a conflict of interest or thought it was not enough money in the case for them to take it on.
I filed a complaint with the Secretary of State - Georgia Dental Board. I had a witness for them to contact. The short story here is that the Dental Board never contacted my witness. After waiting 9 months, they sent me a form letter staing that my complaint had no merit. I tried to appeal, but it was no use.
You see, the Georgia Dental Board is made up of an 11 member panel. 9 Dentists. 1 Hygenist, and only 1 Consumer Advocate. So, your odds are 10 to 1 against the citizen. No way to win.
In desperation, I posted a few negative reviews on this dentist and my experience with his office.
Guess, what he did. He filed a GOOD BEHAVIOR WARRANT, in court against me. I had to hire a private lawyer and spent $1,500 to get out of this situation.
I thought it was over, but a few days later, some sheriff deputy came to my house to serve me with a STALKING WARRANT, and for me to appear in court - facing 10 years in jail! I never stalked him. I do not know where he lives. I do not even drive a car.
FOR WHAT - Just exercising my 1st ammendment rights of free speech and telling the truth of what happened to me. I had to get the same lawyer to get me out of this.
At the same time, I got some Hate Mail, from someone in his staff.
I had to go to Mexico, to see a highly recommended dentist. Spent 1 month at a boarding house there. Spent over $2,000 for the bridge work and cleaning.
This is a true story and a very sad one. This never should happen to anyone.
Anyone out there, with any helpful comments, can attach it to this original report.
Needless to say, my husband and I moved out of Georgia. We now live in another state.

I wrote a report on my horrible experience with this dentist, John Crumpton. I would like to add the following.
In my quest to get compensation for the damage he caused me, I wrote him 2 letters asking for either $5,000 for the bridgework required to repair the damge he did or the name of his medical malpractice insurance company.
He ignored both letters. Via the internet, I found out he had a policy with Cincinnati Financial Company in Augusta, Georgia. I contacted them, and spoke to a claims handler who was rude to me. He asked me for a description of my complaint, which I prepared and mailed into them.
This was back in December, 2010. About 1 week later, I got a phone call from this rude man, who basically said my complaint has no merit. He was laughing at me over the phone. I told him, that he should have sent me a letter in the mail, instead of this phone call. His clear intent was to upset me. I told him that this John Crumpton should not even be a dentist - for the pain and misery he caused me. He just laughed at me and said, OH COME NOW.
Dear Readers, the only two things that insurance companies respect are Good Lawyers and Other Insurance Companies. It is difficult (almost impossible) to file claims with insurance companies alone and without a lawyer.
In the final analysis, I can say that medical professionals - including dentists - take A HYPOCRATIC OATH before they become providers of any medicine. This oath states, FIRST, DO NO HARM.
I guess that John Crumpton, DMD, failed to adhere to the Hypocratic Oath. He certainly did me a great deal of harm - physically, emotionally and financially. It cost me about $4,000 total to get fixed bridgework in Mexico. This is cost of the dental work, plane travel and 30 days at a guest house.
Again, what happen to me, I wish never happens to anyone. Dear Readers, please learn from my horrible experience. Make sure you thoughly check out a dentist before you use their services. If you have any doubt, in your mind, walk away.
