John Group Int'l is no place to work if you expect to be paid. There is something morally and ethically wrong with the way this company does business.  The owner sounds like he cares and says he wants to take care of his people, but when someone quits due to non-payment, he just replaces them with another unsuspecting hungry employee.

Payroll:  An average of five checks per employee over the past year have bounced.  He makes them right, however, he continued to write bad checks until the last 2 checks were simply not distributed to us.  Many of us worked for up to 11 weeks without getting a paycheck and hung on that long in hopes of his empty promises of paying up to date.

Taxes: The owner failed to pay taxes for 5 months even though when confronted, he said that he "pays his taxes quarterly" and we don't get pay-stubs, so it's hard to nail down when payroll taxes are being paid..or not.  He makes payroll out of various bank accounts that are often not funded.  He used a legitimate payroll company for 3 months but got fired because he didn't fund them ahead of payroll. So the remainder of the year payroll (NET wages) was made from various bank accounts, cashiers checks, or wires so who's to say when he'll make the tax payments to the IRS...will we get a W-2?  It's a mess.

Breaking contracts:  The owner seems to have a bad habit of starting a job and then walking off if things don't go his way.  When that happens, he quits paying his employees, construction vendors, consultants, landlords, and contractors and then the lien notices start rolling in. No pay, bounced checks, no taxes paid...all this along with the eviction notices, this is no secure place to work.

The Owner should not be allowed to continue operating this company and jeopardize other families' livelihoods as he's dong now. He continues to rehire with no consequences and more people will be financially affected as the pattern is continuing.
