In August of 2013 I was contracted for course development work with John Hancock University. I submitted the full course development document by the due date (September 6, 2013) and the course subsequently ran with the content that I wrote. I submitted an invoice on September 10th and according to the contract this was to be paid in approximately 30 days from the date of completion.

When I did not receive payment by November 2013, I contacted the contact person I had been working with and I was told that the check had been returned to the corporate office and was being redirected to me. When I still did not receive payment several weeks later, I continued to inquire and was repeatedly told the check had been cut (fee was 2500.00 usd) and it was "being looked into). In early February I received my tax document from Temania Group which owns John Hancock University and it did not list the 2500.00 compensation, which indicated to me that the payment had never been processed.

I confronted both the CFO and President of John Hancock University and did not receive a response. My direct supervisor for the project emailed me the next day writing that the payment had not been processed due to "cash flow " issues.

Furthermore, after the first course development was completed I was subsequently contracted for another course development for an additional 2500.00. This work is currently in progress.

The actions of JHU and Temania group are highly unethical and dishonest. My work was submitted in good faith and accepted by the university. Students took the course that I developed. It has been 5 months and I have not received compensation for my work.
