Complaint Review: John Jay Inn Best Western

I stayed at the John Jay Inn Best Western (AKA Capitol City Inn) night of 10/12/19 and checked out at 9:25 am on 10/13/19. I was the only occupant. When I left room 212 I turned around and made sure the door was closed and locked. Went to the front desk with all my belongings and checked out and gave the younger blonde receptionist mytwo card keys for the room and she confirmed i was good to go.

 I checked my bank account hours later and realized the hotel had charged me an extra $600. When i called the hotel the GM Andrew told me the room had been robbed of two tvs and bed sheets. When I told the manager to check the cameras and he would see i did not steal he told me he knows i did not but i am still liable.

When i asked for the police report the manager told me he has not filed one yet or called. When i asked how he did not call the police when they realized property was stolen but charged my card he did not have an answer. I demanded he file a police report and send me the report number. He did this hours later after the phone call. I still have not heard anything from the manager and the owners have not reached out.

 There is something very shady happening and this almost stranded me in California when i was on my way back home to Oregon.
