Complaint Review: John Lee - Original Furniture Brokers / POUNDEX ASSOCIATES

 John Lee advertises on craigslist.com, offering barnd new very affordable furnitures. He also has a website. originalfurniturebrokers.com. We made an appointment with him at the showroom where he introduced himself as the owner, making us believe he was the owner of the showroom. After we looked at furniture and selected what we wanted he offered a good price, gave us a copy of the receipt with his business card. We decided a few days later to go with the deal, met him and gave him a check for 1,200 dollars. We supposed to get the delivery that afternoon. He called that the wearhouse was already closed, so we set a delivery date for a couple of days later. He called that morning that his father passed away and flying out to the East Coast. Never heard from him anymore...

When I went to the address on his business card, his neighboor told me he moved in a hurry on Chritmas Eve with his family.

The worst about this is that the showroom, which is an independent company selling only to licensed brokers, was already informed by a customer months ago that John Lee scammed the. They did nothing about it and continued allowing him in their showroom with customers. I talked to one of the showroom employee as well, she said they know who John Lee was but they can't do anything about it because he is a licensed broker, and they are not responsible for anything.
