Our elderly disabled neighbor, who is also caring for her Alzheimer-afflicted husband, mentioned to me that her last water bill was unusually high.  We suggested that she call her insurance company, which she did ... but also contacted John Moore based on the TV ads.  The latter representative arrived first ... somehow they always do.  After spending a bit of time poking around, he advised our neighber that there is an underground leak, and estimated the repair cost at $9000.  I told her to do nothing until I at least see the report.

The insurance company rep arrived the next day, looked over John Moore's paperwork, and began his investigation.  He concluded that the causes of the excessive water usage were a toilet flapper that lost its seal, and a worn faucet cartridge in the master bedroom shower.  He even repaired both at no charge.  No issues with the under-slab plumbing were discovered.

The water bills now have returned to normal levels, and our neighbor will be receiving credit for the excess usage, since she addressed the cause of the leaks.

I guess their jinlge should be changed to, "Call John, Pay Moore ... whether you need it or not."  What particularly disturbs me is our neighbor's age and deteriorating physical condition ... I guess that Moore figuired her to be an easy mark.
