I signed up my daughter for a 20-week personal development workshop and paid for this program in full ($1950).

My daughter attended 3 workshops (Aug 11,Aug 18 & Sept1), then all of a sudden, workshops were cancelled week after week. I've called and left numerous messages but no one returned my calls! I emailed & faxed a note cancel my agreement and asked for a refund but again, no response! Then on October 13, i called again but cannot leave a message as the mailbox was full.

I filed a complain with BBB but BBB cannot contact Johnny or Coretha Timko as the phone is disconnected and there is no forwarding address.

I've emailed jrphq@johnrobertpowers.com & .net a couple of times for help in locating the Timkos, but no response from them either!

I am very frustrated and want my money back to pay for college fees! Does anyone have any information or any suggestions on what I should do? Please help me!

Thank you!

JRP sells franchises with territories attached.

Hi. It is a sad old tale. The JRP in your area suddenly closes down because they were unable to keep up with their franchise payments to the mother ship.

JRP will wait until they have another master sucker and then sell the franchise and territory again....because there are always more people willing to pay money for a promise that they will be a star (junior suckers).

At least you know that you are not the first nor last person to be left with nothing when a JRP franchise folds.

The only way to really avoid this happening to you is to just not deal with JRP or iPOP in any way. DONT give them any of your money and maybe they will go away quietly.....but probably not....they are like vampires...or the living dead or something.

I tried calling & emailing the JRP headquarters, NO response! No help!

I've spoken to two other people who signed up and paid for classes and they too did not get any notification by phone, mail or email. We were not missed, we were RIPPED OFF!

Please, again don't judge too harsly due to one JRPs failure. Notification should have been done, and maybe it was but you were just missed? I don't know, but too lose your business and livelyhood in this economy is tough and the Timkos have suffered. However, you are correct that you should be able to contact someone. I suggest you go onto the JRP Corporate site www.johnrobertpowers.com and then get the number in Beverly Hills, CA and call them. As each JRP is a franchise, I don't know if they can help you specifically or not, but they are good people and will try. Also, you may wish to try and find another JRP within driving distance and transfer, or if you were to ever come to our place in Colorado and bring your paperwork, we would be happy to have you and provide you with all of the great benefits in our JRP facility. Overall, you are wrong about JRP - they are a great company with great people! Don't give up on your dream!

The Timko's may be good people but very lousy and uprofessional business people - with poor customer relations. No one from that office didn't make an effort to return my calls or emails or to inform me of what's going on. All of a sudden, the phone is no longer in service! I want my money back and I can't get a hold of anyone who wants to deal with this! I've come across a lot of people who are very disattisfied with JRP in general and the word is getting out that JRP is a rip-off.

Is there a number I can call and actually get a live person?

Donna,
Each JRP is individually owned and operated. The timko's are good people who just couldn't make things work in Hawthorne due to the economy. Complaining to the BBB on a closed business is futile. Please go onto the main JRP site and look for another JRP that you can get to. Take your paperwork as proof. Also, contact the main office, JRP Corporate in Beverly Hills. Someone their should be able to help you. I am one of over 100 JRP owners around the world! This is a great company, so don't give up. Call the corporate office, don't email.

Break a leg!!
