I had a verbal est. of $450.00 to do some retrofitting on my truck mount carpet machine. john, the owner said it was easy to do and would take about 1.5 days. It took 4 days and cost me $1,100.00 a heck of a difference from his original est. He says he didn't take some things into account.

My response is I should have been notified of a problem and had the right of refusal in doing the work. He gave me no such option. Basically held my business at ransom so I paid the bill and here we are. I just want people to know he is a liar and thief and DON'T do business with this thief. He doesn't even do good work.

I had leaks and things were not tightened up and he used all the same colored wire to rewire my ignition so now if I have a problem with it, i will have to have it rewired again just to know where the color wires are supposed to go . He is a true credit to not trusting someone without a written estimate.

He has done this to many other people that I later found out about, but too late for me. I hope this saves somebody , even 1 person, from getting ripped off by this guy. He has given service a bad name in Largo, fl and I just want the carpet cleaning industry to be warned.

John's Custom Machine should be avoided like the plague as you will onlybe sorry and poorer for your trouble if you are stupid enough to have any work done by this crook. This is all I have to say. Thanks for this site to expose these thieves for what they are..........

Just a short bit of update info.
Since John's passing , I needed to have some work done on a header pipe that was made by John's custom machine.
It had been a year since I purchased it from them, and it had developed a weld breach. I don't blame them as stuff happens. I removed it and as a result, the header bolt were damaged and need to be tapped and replaced.
Don was real cool and even though there had been bad blood between John and I, he went out of his way to get me running.
Now Don is a straight to the point kind of guy, but I like that. You know where you stand from the beginning.
And, he got me up and running quickly and I appreciated that.
I can't speak for the world, but at this point, I am content with the service I have received from Don.
Things can change, and even though the issues with John still bothers me, it was with John, not Don.
I hope this clears up things a bit and I will continue to have work done there as long as it is done to the standards I have experienced with Don. He is a good guy when you treat him the way you would like to be treated.
Not everything goes according to plan. Sometimes, unexpected things come up. IT HAPPENS!
I don't like it but it does happen. NO ONE can foresee everything every time.
It's service, period.
They do the stuff no body else can so there is going to be times when stuff is more involved than expected, period.
