John Scimone SkiXtreme Will not honor money-back guarantee Middlefield, Ohio
I purchased this equipment online. It was shipped to me poorly packaged, but undamaged. I took it out and put it together. It took about 10 minutes of trying it out to realize it was not going to provide any sort of workout for me, nor that it was going to hold up well. In the short time I tried it, I could feel that the springs were already starting to weaken. This is certainly no "precision" machine. It appears that someone put it together in their garage. I wouldn't expect to pay more than $100 for it.
I packaged the machine back up into the original box and included all pieces. I then paid UPS more than $100 to ship the machine back so I could get my refund. At this point, the problems began: emails were not answered, phone calls not returned. Only until I threatened to contact PayPal and my credit card company did I get a response. The response was that the machine was severely damaged and pieces were missing, therefore no full refund would be issued. I asked for pictures and documentation and none was given. I asked if UPS had damaged the box and was told they did not. Not sure how all that damage could occur only inside the box. I know there was nothing wrong with what I sent back to him; he is simply making up excuses. We will see what happens with PayPal and American Express on this.
In my opinion, John Scimone never had any intention of honoring the money-back guarantee. I also feel that the machine itself is certainly not worth the price being charged. It is certainly buyer-beware for the SkiXtreme Workout machine.

The chargeback from PayPal is still in dispute, as Mr. Scimone continues to battle against refunding my money. As I said earlier, he has no proof of a VOLUNTARY refund to me. And after slandering me he threatens me with legal action!
Regardless of who you believe here, DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DO BUSINESS with this guy? I took a chance and am paying the price by having to deal with him and his unbelievable lack of business sense, as well as his wild rantings. Find another exercise machine to buy! It's not worth it.

I have not received any refund from SkiXtreme or John Scimone. If he has voluntarily issued a refund I would like to see the proof. Perhaps the check was lost in the mail. Feel free to resend it to me.

I did my best not to personally attack Mr. Scimone, only his business practices. As you can see, he has responded by calling me a liar and attempted thief, as well as disclosing my full name, which I do not appreciate and do not find acceptable. (His name is on his website).
The fact that the box was not opened until a month after he shipped it is a non-issue, as John was involved in this discussion, and I have emails to prove that he waived the 30-day requirement. Mr. Scimone stats that he issued me a refund -- he did not. I'm not sure how I am supposedly a "rip-off artist" if he still has my money and UPS has $100 from me having to ship the product back to him.
I simply want my money back from Mr. Scimone, and I will not resort to name calling as John seems to favor.
There are plenty of other products on the market that work better than Mr. Scimone's "contraption", and I'm sure they are run much more professionally than his. And they would probably also have lawyers that would advise them about what information can and cannot be disclosed about their customers in a public forum.

Look, Jeff Bredehorn buys a machine november 21st 2011, He calls us Dec 21st 2011 said he never recieved the product, Files a claim with UPS & said he never recieved it, but we have receipt showing delivery! Tried to get a refund from UPS & SKIXTREME & keep the product!, When that did not work for Jeff, He all of a sudden FOUND IT! (yea right), When he was caught in his lies, He all of a sudden FOUND IT! He sent it back almost 90 days after he used it! I refunded the money, only after i recieved it back and he was not receiving more money from UPS, Its a shame when people try to take advantage! Everything he wrote is different when his lies didn't work! I appreciate all my loyal custormer and i am a truly good person that does not want anyone to keep this if they do not like it! Thats all Jeff Brendehorn had to say instead of all this deceit! (HE IS MY ONLY RETURN) Thats because this machine is built like a tank and WORKS! Read all other 99.9% positive reviews!
