Purchased Energizer 26R automotive battery from either Walmart or Sam's Clib. Did not save receipt.  Battery EXPLODED when engine was started ejecting battery acid all over engine compartment. Went back to retailer with exploded battery with manufacured date showing battery was less than 21 months old according to manuffacture date stamped on the battery.

Retailer refused to honor warranty without store receipt. Contacted manufacturer JCI power solutions customer service at PS-BatteryTechSupport, there response was "warranties are handled by the original retailer with reeipt". Went back to retailer "said could not replace EXPLODED battery without receipt". Still no replacement for an exploded battery that was less than 2 years old.
