Complaint Review: Joint Systems Inc.

Joint Systems Inc. Non-delivery of lawn mower engine with no communications Tampa Florida

I received a price quote from Joint Systems on July 28, 2008 for a Briggs & Stratton lawn mower engine with a price of $418.88 plus $46.45 shipping for a total of $465.33. The order was sent on July 29 and the check cleared the bank on August 19.

I received a few emails about the order that just said "Some day this week, will try to get a definite answer" and "Good question, we are trying to find out, the people we deal with at the distributors went on vacation." I sent numerous emails and left many voicemail messages. The phone number only goes to an answering machine that always says "...we are currently on another call..." anytime of the day or night.

One message was received on September 15 saying, "Have you received the engine? ...I am contacting our west coast person who will take care of things till I get back." I never heard from him again and didn't hear from this "west coast person" either.

It is now November 17 and I still have received no communications since September 15. I have repeatedly left voicemail message and send numerous email messages demanding a refund of my money. I have heard and received nothing. My next step is to send a certified letter to the address given to me to see if they are even getting any communications.

Since I wasn't getting any responses from my many email messages, I wanted to find out if they weren't getting any messages or just ignoring mine. So I created a completely different email address on another email service provider and sent a standard email with a different name asking for pricing and info on a particular engine. I made it look like I was a totally different person. And behold, I got a response quickly! So my messages were being ignored. I (posing as a different person) asked him why he wasn't responding to (insert my name here)'s email messages. His only response to that was asking what my relationship was to "me". I responded that he didn't need to know that but asked nicely to please respond to the email messages. A simple trick but it worked. The next day, I sent a message from my original account saying that I deserved an explanation and I just found out that he really was ignoring my messages. I told him that he can't ignore them now and to respond. I did get a response. I still don't know when I'll get the refund but at least communication has resumed.
