Jon Chris Matherly or Chris Matherly Contractor Nightmare - Buyer Beware Dallas Georgia
Do not use Chris Matherly to do work in your home. I hired him to repair my deck, clean and seal it along with hanging 4 ceiling fans and 3 light fixtures. He assured me he did that type of work all the time and it would be quick and easy. Chris not only did not do the work himself, he hired 2 electricians to come in who only hung 2 of the light fixtures and 2 of the ceiling fans. This process took over 4 days to complete.
He also hired young men to handle my deck repair, etc. They were not qualified and I ended up stopping them in the middle of the job as they were trying to seal my deck when it was not properly cleaned - most of it was never even pressure washed. I scrubbed my deck myself. Over the course of 2 weeks I waited for the electricians to come back and finish the job and after many promises, they never came. He paid them in full before completing the work and we paid him after he assured us "his word was his bond". Lesson learned here!
As of today, I have to go out and finish staining the deck as many areas were not even touched and it is a small deck. The lighting fixtures had to be fixed by another electrican as they were installed improperly. Many texts from Chris promising "to make things right" have not resulted in any resolution. I paid him over $1,400 for jobs that shoud have cost less than $1000.00. Homeowners BEWARE!
