I met Jonathan Thorpe through Tom Parmentier, one of my associates at Express Homebuyers. They were high school classmates years ago. Jonathan committed to shooting video at our second Express Homebuyers Wholesaler Meetup we were having in Springfield, VA on March 2. He called to cancel at the last second. The following month, because he was classmates with Tom, we decided to give him another shot. He showed up on April 11th and did the video shoot. He said it would take him a few weeks to get the video edited. Since then we have called him, emailed him, texted him and facebooked messaged him no fewer than 15 times. He only responded once and that was on May 26 saying that he hadn't received our presentation.

That day I emailed him the presentation and responded to his text saying "Would have been helpful for you to have told us that." Since then he has not responded. We messaged him to just send us the raw footage and we would edit it - as we have 600+ members waiting to view the video. He blocked both Tom and I from his facebook and twitter accounts. His home page of his website says "Jonathan Thorpe. Photographer. Director. Gentleman." I've never met a gentleman who scams someone - have you? My name is Brad Chandler and I am the CEO of Express Homebuyers. If you have any questions regarding my experience with Jonathan Thorpe I am more than happy to speak with you. Google my name and my company and you can easily find me. #jonathanthorpe #jonathanthorpephotgraphy

Response to Express Homebuyers

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

In referrence to the last minute cancellation, I did find another videographer to fill in for me, and was told be expresshomebuyers that she did a great job, and to thank me for finding her for them.

In referrenace to the video in question, I never told them it would take a few weeks to finish that video. It was a simple one camera filming, on a tripod. I did however say to them that it would be done once I was sent the graphic assets to complete the video, which they never sent. I had told them I needed the graphics and didnt get a response from them until much later.

The job in question was due to extreme lack of communication from client. Client had no contract in place, and DID NOT pay for any services to be done. Furthermore client did not provide me with the assets to complete the project in a timely manner, then demended it be done the next day once assets were finally sent. Again, there was no money exchanged, nor was a timeline or contract agreed upon. I object greatly to being called a "scam" when I didn't receive any money for the job. Its not my responsibility for a client to send me whats needed to complete a job, if you cant remember to send it for such an important job, then I cant drop everything once you do.
