I traded a 2003 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition with 75000 mi. in excellent condition and fully loaded. The only reason I traded was to upgrade for a vehicle with newer technology to aide in visibility since I am getting older. The first trade was for a Mercedes Benz 2007 gl450 and was charged $44500 and only valued our trade in at $10000 plus I gave them $3000 cash. I was told if I decided I wasn't happy just bring it back and they would trade until I was completely satisfied. Within two weeks after trading I contacted the Mercedes Company and was informed that the warranty would be $4000 each year and the true value of the car was only $28000. At this point I immendiately contacted Jones Co. again and explained to them that there was no way I could afford to maintain this type of vehicle and was assured by Jones that thay would fairly uphold another trade. After several days they offered a Nissan Murano 2011 with 6861 mi. and assured me the value was the same as the Mercedes Benz. This was the only vehicle offered and I had no other choice but to accept. I contacted the Nissan Co. and was informed the value of a brand new Murano was only $35000. Jones Motor Co. intentionally lied to me about the value of both vehicles and as of this date have charged me nearly $50,000 not including finance charges. I feel like I have been lied to and taken advantage of regarding both trades. The sales man is Jerry Paggit, the Manager is Anthony Benton, the owner is Charlie Jones. If I had checked with BBB before doing business with them I would never have traded with them. They informed me " they did not care how the BBB rated them and that the BBB could not take any action against them". Therefore they have no fear of mistreating people.
From the very begining I wanted to trade for another Ford explorer. After imposing the Nissan on me I saw that they did indeed have a 2010 ford Explorer on their lot, however they refused to sell the Ford explorer because it had no miles and my trade in,( the vehicle they traded me) had miles. Even though they already have me for $45000 . The only way they are willing to trade a 2010 Ford Explorer is when they find one with considerable miles already on it. I am filing this complaint because they will not reurn my phone calls and obviously have no intention of trying to make this right.
