I assume that it wasn't the real Joseph Carr from Christian Childrens Fund, however I go this email and it sounds like it's another one of those scams. All about money transfers, accounting and the like. I never sent CCF any type of resume and have no idea how they would contact me anyways. Just seems weird but this is what it said:

Hello,

How do you do?

My name is Dr. joseph Carr, CCF President . and I would be very interested in offering you a part-time paying job in which you could earn a lot.

This job would be based on contract and commission terms, it is a part-time job and it would involve quite a handful of trust and honesty, If you would be interested in including a good-paying, part time job to your daily list of activities and earning up to $4000.

I just took time to make this explanatory enough so you could understand what the job entails, before I go further I thought I'd inform you of both who you would be working for and what you would be doing. As I have previously informed you, my name is Dr. joseph Carr, 35 years of age, 2 kids, a lovely girl and a troublesome boy, and the love of my life, my Wife, Tracy.

I am a somewhat multitalented man and I do quite a lot of traveling and get to meet quite a lot of people who need my services.

CCF render helps and supports on humanitarian services pretty much on orphanage homes , less privileged scholarship and giving proper education on child abuse, sex education and subsidized medical for good health most especially in the developing world .

I reside in London, England even as I have lived most of my life in other parts of the world, I fully reside in London though I get to do a lot of traveling.
Too many of the world's children suffer the debilitating effects of poverty and violence.Children have the right to experience life with as much joy and hope as possible.
Christian Children's Fund creates an environment of hope and respect for children in need in which they have opportunities to achieve their full potential, and provides children, families and communities with practical tools for positive change.

Presently, the foundation (CCF) was granted a funding to head a charity support project in the tropical regions of West Africa regarding Poverty Alleviation , counseling on the HIV AIDS which is increasing at an alarming rate and provision of basic amenities in support to humanitarian services to the third world nations and this would be commencing very soon.

However , our funding were by my American counterparts and they mostly come in US based Money Orders and sometimes Cashiers Checks.

Getting an accountant in the states or opening an account would have been my best choice but I have a deadline to meet and taking any of those choices would cost me time and a whole lot of other requirements I am not ready to deal with as I would be traveling a lot in the meantime.

So presently, having read your resume and 'assuming' you would be able to deal with cash, I would be willing to employ you on contract basis to be my payment representative back in the states, this way I could issue and make these money orders out to you, you could then cash them easily, withdraw 10% of the total amount on these money orders as your commission for the great service you would be rendering in support to saving life's in the third world and then send the rest back to me through Western Union Money transfer.

Bear it in mind that we would be dealing with quite a handful of cash and you could be making good money working with me in a short period of time.

I would be glad if you accept my proposal and I intend to commence on starting as soon as you are ready. If you are interested, please email me back so we could make concluding arrangements.
Thank You and God Bless.

This is a 419 Scam

#2Consumer Suggestion

This is a 419 scam.

In fact, it's a very typical one.

419 scam's are Nigerian (usually) scammers who cook up these ludicrous emails promising insane amounts of money fo very little or no work on your part.

Usually this is a sob story about a dead spouse who had an inheretance and they can't access it for whatever reasons and want you to be a middle man.

Often they pose as:
-Church Officials
-State Officials at some weird embassy or foreign government that couldn't POSSIBLY know who you are.
-lawyers
-doctors
-scientists
-they are never any sort of common person, they always choose respectable-sounding disguises.

Note their English is not great.

This is a #1 clue that this is a scammer. You'd think someone as well educated as they purport to be would be able to speak better and write a more professional letter.

#2 clue is they ALWAYS want their prospective pigeons to use Western Union or Some sort of wire transfer service.

#3 clue is that as a head of whatever it is they are, you'd think they'd have better resources to call upon for getting things done then sending out random emails to total strangers in America.

There are many breeds of these vile scammers, but they all only want one thing: TO TAKE YOUR MONEY.

Don't send them any money!
DON'T BY ANY MEANS EVER SEND THEM ID OR PERSONAL INFORMATION
It is best just to trash these sort of emails.

BETTER YET, you can join the resistance force known as scambaiters. These are people who purposely bait these scammers and toy with them. They drag out exchanges between themselves and the scammer, leading them on to believe they've hooked another sucker.
-Usually this results in nothing more than wasting a scammers time. But if they're being held up by a scambaiter, they're not out there swindling innocent victims.

The best baiters (who call themselves "master-baiters") can even con money out of the scammer, and get them to take and send degrading photos of themselves. None of these people are really very intelligent. They might be smart enough to swindle folks, but they're ignorant as hell. The best account I ever read was of a baiter by the handle of "SHIVER" who got a Nigerian scammer to get a big tattoo on his arm that said "Baited by SHIVER", and send pictures of it!

It's long, but I laughed my a*s off.

Anyway, hope that clears things up for you.
Good Luck
