Purchased 2006 Pontiac Solstice from Joseph Neri Pontiac in response to eBay ad. Paid almost $5K over MSRP. Aside from gouging the consumer in this sale, by deceptively using the advantage of long-distance logistics inherent in any typical eBay transaction, this unscrupulous dealer DELIBERATELY failed to disclose the fact that this Solstice lacks A/C. (!!??)

Car was listed with options such as "power package", power windows, CD player, etc. Though they knew full well, at no time did Joseph Neri Pontiac inform me that this car was not equipped with A/C. Mysteriously, the car had 350 miles when I bought it. They claim that a woman bought it but changed her mind.

Now I realize that she changed her mind because the #%#@ car doesn't have A/C. So, instead of doing the right thing and clearly disclosing the fact that this car lacks an essential option, Joseph Neri Pontiac used eBay and the internet to screw a consumer, i.e., me.

Making this even worse, Joseph Neri Pontiac personnel knew full that this car was to be registered in Phoenix, AZ where A/C is truly essential. Now dealer refuses to take the car back. Had Joseph Neri disclosed the material fact that this Solstice lacked A/C I would NEVER have consummated purchase. Believe it or not, there is much more to this story which casts Joseph Neri Pontiac in an even uglier light.

Suffice it to say that Joseph Neri Pontiac should be avoided at all costs.

Maybe not in the technical sense, because they sold what they said they would sell. But it was d**n sure sold under false pretenses. GM now has a car that is unsellable in Arizona, and almost undriveable. Paid way too much for it, and the dealer took full advantage of you. Gm, go have after-market air put into your car at a reputable shop, and bite the bullet. You got taken, but good. Next time buy from a Phoenix dealer and look at what you're buying. I can just see the dealer sitting up in New York, laughing his a*s off at what he did to an Arizonan. He'll be telling this story for years.

GM, I'm sorry that your new car purchase is a disappointment. This is, unfortunately, a very expensive lesson learned.

The following information is too late in your case, but I hope other people see it and keep it in mind.

Go to cars.com and click on research. Select the make, model and year of the car you're interested in.

You will get a page which shows the various body styles and trim levels for the car you selected, including standard and optional features. It also shows the MSRP and dealer invoice for each option.

In the case of the Solstice, A/C is indeed optional. The MSRP is $960, and the dealer invoice is $854.

By my count, there are 39 options for the Solstice. Does anyone actually expect the ad to show all options NOT included for a given car? It just doesn't work that way.

Anyway, GM, enjoy your Solstice as best you can. It looks like a sweet ride. You will have a little more power available without the A/C.

Hello,

I found a black Solstice sold from New York on Ebay. It might not be your listing, but It did have the mileage specified ( and it matches ). The ad also doesn't list air as an option when the other ones do. Of course maybe they should have explained this in the text of their ad, but technically they never said it had air conditioning. A car of this price should probably have it, but you can never assume.

This had to be at least $30,000.00, right? *WHY* would you spend that much on a car, sight unseen, from a delaer on the other side of the country? Did it ever occur to you to ASK if it had A/C, if it was so important to you? You can't expect the rest of the world to do your thinking for you.

No rip off here that I cna see.
