Complaint Review: Joseph Perry

My rental experience with Landlord Joseph Perry at his 411 Tiger Lily Dr. Location in Big Bear City CA 92314 has been horrific. He is extremley minipulative, pretends to be a church loving/family man. He is not. From the very beginning he has ripped my boyfriend and I off. Our first 2 weeks in the rental we had no heat or hot water and our house would be 20 degrees at night.

He has 70 year old ..yes 70 YEARS OLD shaggy carpet that is tearing apart and has holes that we would trip on daily which eventually resulted in a twisted ankle. Literally not one window or door shuts correctly... NONE of them are weather proofed. The shower is the size of a small hallway closet and the cheap plastic wall of the shower is completely cracked allowing water to leak directly onto the wall causing the growth of a major mold problem.

Taking a shower there is the most frustrating thing ever. The electrical outlets spark constantly you can't have anything plugged in or charging the device because extremley hot... it feels like there will be an electrical fire at any point. No working smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detector. The back porch is rotting away the back steps are broken.. super dangerous.

All the while if you have any questions or complaint good luck getting a hold of Joe.. you'll wait weeks sometimes months... he's condescending and passive aggressive. You'll have to fix everything yourself because anyone he sends over either never comes or actually doesn't fix anything... you'll also have to spend your own money for supplies.. he'll say he will reimburse you but never will and then he will keep your entire deposit for pre-existing damages.

Then he will just no longer respond to you when you dispute him. Do yourself a favor and don't deal with this d****e. Save your self the frustration and money!
