I have been had by eBay.
The eBay advertisement was:
"Quark Xpress 5.0 FULL install for Mac & PC. Special Promotion! Buy now for only $450"
I paid (through Paypal) $450 US for a Macintosh version. After two+ weeks I received a pirated PC copy with no software serial numbers or verification codes.
The vendor said (via email) that he would come clean and send me the proper software. He didn't. When I complained, Ebay and Paypal both told me to try and resolve the dispute with the vendor. A week later they both suspended the vendor, Joe Puffenbarger from their sites.
Two weeks later when it didn't look like a resolution was going to happen and it became painfully obvious that I had been ripped off I contacted eBay and Paypal again. Guess what? After 30 days, they don't offer any protection. Sounds like a catch-22 situation. They just told me to sit tight until their protection period was up.
I have only purchased on eBay for 1 week and this was my only purchase (out of three) over $10. If I had a lot of money I wouldn't have resorted to trying to save a few bucks purchasing the software I need for my small business through this method. Now I can't even afford to make a down payment on the real thing.
I am very disappointed in how these corporations conduct business.

I am the very Joe Puffenbarger talked about in the article. The article is very negative indeed but I assure you the claims are unfounded, exaggerated and erroneous. Normally I wouldn't care what someone thinks of me or my business. Or even if they make up stories and change details of circumstances to make them selves look good for one reason or another. I could care less.
The reason I bring this up is to request your assistance in removing or at the very least editing the article listed above AND the responses included their in. Both the article and possibly the responses contain very personal information to me and my family. They are being used to obtain personal addresses, personal email addresses, personal home phone numbers of myself and family members not related to the incident. It is very unfair and unfortunate that the information from your site is being used for harassment and slander. It is my opinion after reading the article that the sole reason the article was written was to encourage harassment to me personally. Please assist me in changing this.

Please cross check this info against the information in her profile you may have on hand.
This information was given to me from an investigator from my local Police Department. I was given this info so I may be sure NOT to contact her any more per the investigator's advisement because Chris Reardon has crossed the line from harassment to contacting me with threats on several occasions.
I fear Chris Reardon is using your site to encourage others to send me threats and/or harassing correspondences.
I appreciate your websites ongoing efforts to making the world a better place but I would like to see your site upgrade guidelines to make it a safer place for people to use your services without being harassed and threatened. Thank you for your understanding.
