This doctor is HORRIBLE. He used to be okay but changed, I don't know why. For the past year+ he's been changing the meds of friends I've met there withought a thought or seemingly a care as to how it would effect them. One suffered an od because of this. Another is in constant pain and withdrawal, cannot work, and the list goes on. Another woman I met he told her he was going to wean her off of a much needed med at a certain pace, then lied and started weaning her down at a higher rate than is healthy. She got out of there too. When I questioned the new pricing, 100/wk and 175 for a "master visit" with him, he said,"it's less than you were spending on the streets, right?"! Are you kidding me? How incredibly rude and careless for a doctor of mental health to say something like that! Esp to someone who is trying to get their life back together and live a good life. How demeaning. And yes, his wife, Kris, will often counsel patients as well, which is not legal, as another posted. They used to be an ok practice. Now they're simply horrific. They just want your money. That's all he cares about after Kris got involved. What a mess of a practice. Will also be reporting to local and federal agencies.

Dr.Volpicelli is a Life Saver

Dr.Volpicelli is a very well educated and extremely well practiced doctor, if he were truly giving out medicines in incorrect dosses and "harming" his patients, his practice would have been shut down by now. I've been seeing him for about three years and if it weren't for him and his amazing team I would either still be strung out on the street somewhere, or dead. He's a life saver with only his patients' best interests in mind; everyone walks out of his office smiling.

The only people who seem to have an issue with his work are those who are not willing to put the work in that is needed to get clean. Being weaned off of medicines can be a difficult business, but who are you to say that your friend did or didn't need the medicine? Dr.Volpicelli went to school for a long time to do what he is doing now and he does it quite well. He does change medicines quite often until he finds the right combination; if it weren't for his doing that I would have never gotten over my issues. If you and your friends allowed him to do his work without assuming he is doing something wrong because you read a different opinion on Yahoo answers, maybe you'd be at a better place too!

As for the comment about the pricing, you were there for a drug addiction, correct? It's true that paying for the visits is a lot, but if it keeps you clean isn't it worth it? All I'm hearing from this article (which is surprisingly like the other article) is that you didn't want to put the work into getting sober and got pissed when the doctor and his team couldn't do it for you. If you found the comment rude, the adult thing to do would have been to say so. Writing about it online really doesn't solve much, does it?

Kris will often tell patients what Dr.Volpicelli needed them to know when he isn't available. I've often asked for her advice on issues and unless it's something she has heard from his mouth she will not put herself or their practice in jeopardy. If by "counseling" patients you mean answering phones, giving out drug tests, and mental health assessments I have bad news for you. That's legal.

For ANYONE who needs a doctor for their addiction, Dr.Volpeicelli is an amazing doctor and an amazing person! If you're willing to put the work in, he's willing to work with you. He saved my life and i know he's saved many others. I can never thank him enough for what he did for myself and my family. I think I can start by pointing out the errors in this post.
