Josh Bredehoft Check Fraud Glendale California
I have known Josh B for around 19 years (since pre-school). I just got back from studying abroad in Tokyo this past year so when he told me that his acting/singing career was doing well I had no reason to doubt him. I mean, afterall 19 years is a long time to be "friends" with someone. Well, we went out and over the course of two nights spend around $1000 with the understanding that he would pay me back. So he wrote me two checks. I went to the bank today and tried to cash them only to find that there was NO MONEY in his account.
I have contacted his cell phone and also his parents trying to find out the address of the place he is staying with his BOYFRIEND Arsen (he supposedly doesn't want anyone to know that he is gay). The address he gives in Vista Ct. is a house that he doesn't want to live in. In any case, if anyone could help me out in anyway at all I would greatly appreciate it. At the very least his parents will be able to get ahold of him and hopefully I will get my money back. I can officially say that 19 years obviously wasn't long enough and he has a problem and should get pyschological help (he used to do check fraud before but I, like an idiot, trusted him and believed he was over it.)
Once again, anything will help
Thanks!

Tiffany,
I'm very sorry to hear about your situation with Josh B. He owes me a lot of money too and has never paid me either. If you read the stories here you will see that you are not alone unfortunately.
My opinion is that you should report this immediately. Regardless who does it, writing a bad check is illegal. The degree in which it is illegal depends on your situation. If you are single mother, have 4 children, and wrote a bad check for $30 for the cable then a court might understand. If it's a situation where someone is writing bad checks knowing that they don't have the $ to cover them.. that's another story.
I would suggest you check out this site from our state. It's from the attorney
general's office of California:
http://ag.ca.gov/consumers/general/badchex.php
Furthermore, in my opinion, I would most definitely file a police report immediately! You can see by this site that many people have complaints against him.
You have rights Tiffany! I'm really sorry this happened to you. Trust me I know the pain and stress you're going through. In my opinion though, I don't think you're going to get any money back from him - not a single cent!
Please don't believe any of his excuses either... he lied to you and he's avoiding you now.
Again, in my opinion, I would file a report immediately. You have a constitutional right to do so.
Good luck,
Sean
