Painesville, OH44077 asks for your ID before notarizing documents for customers.  The ID is to get your personal information and try to pester you into other financial aspects that the bank may offer.   Upon refusal except for them to see I was myself the person and I disagreed.  I filed a complaint with the Comptroller of the Currency.  It was forwarded to Chase executive office.  My checking account was closed and the rewards program points were forfeited.  Everything I had earned using their debit was gone thousands of points redeemable for multiple gift cards.   I was RIPPED OFF

I bet there is a lot more to this story than you wrote, and I bet it would shine a whole other light on this.  Because right now you sound like a "problem" customer that they were probably very glad to get rid of.

According to your report you complained to the Comptroller of Currency that they required you to show your ID to have a document notarized.  Seriously?  If that is the case, the Comptroller of Currency is there to help consumers but that is just ridiculous.

"Chase employees at 30 S. Park Place. Painesville, OH 44077 asks for your ID before notarizing documents for customers."

Do you understand what notarizing is?  The notary is verifying that you are the person signing a document.  They can't do that unless you provide proper ID.

"The ID is to get your personal information and try to pester you into other financial aspects that the bank may offer."

On what do you base your suspicion that they wanted your ID in order to pester you?   You said you have a checking account with them.  They already have all of the information they need to pester you.  What information is on your ID that the bank doesn't already have on your checking account application?   Your complaint makes no sense.

"My checking account was closed and the rewards program points were forfeited."

I'm guessing that you probably made a big stink about this in the bank and they've decided to no longer do business with you.
