DO NOT pay the $750 application fee for Chase Refinance or Modification on a pre-existing Chase mortgage. I was given NO SERVICES RENDERED after paying this fee, with the exception of the free 5-min appraisal. I passed. I have never received a Good Faith Estimate as listed on my loan application disclosure and as required by law (Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act). I was told by Josh, in March 2009, that he was waiting on a specific form from the county clerk regarding my application and this specific document was difficult to obtain because the county was overwhelmed. I found out that this was a scam Chase ran in the first quarter of 2009 when rates were at historic lows. They will typically stall for 90-days and then they no longer are required to honor the rate lock, pocketing the $750. It was my first time to refinance. I want my money and the interest on it. I am not willing to organize but please contact me about class-action efforts regarding Chase Refi Scams.
