February 11, 2008 I secured an auto loan through Chase Auto Finance to buy a car that I had been leasing from GMAC for the past three years. I bought the car for the residual value that had been in place at the beginning of the lease. I borrowed enough money to pay for the car and fees and taxes payable to the DOR here in Mo. I sent Chase the original title, (with GMAC as the lienholder), a signed and notarized power of attorney to apply for the new title, pay the sales tax, and put Chase as the new lienholder. Simple? No not really. It is now June 17 and none of this has been done. I have talked to at least twenty different people over the last three months and I can't even get a straight answer or the 806.55 dollars for the sales tax. Meanwhile the late fees for not registering or paying the tax on time, Missouri grants 30 days to pay the tax, is my burden. The incompetence in the ranks at Chase is unbelieveable, only surpassed by their don't give a s**t additudes! If anyone reading this can tell me how or what I can do I would grant them one wish.
