Where do I start???? I placed an order for sliding glass patio doors in early September 2014. This company was highly recommended by a friend. This company is noted as one of the few (if not the only one who specializes in custom made products) where products and services are delivered promptly and customer service is highly regarded and professional.

Well.... that's not true by my experience. In good faith I placed an order for screens online on 9/1 and then called back on 9/3 and ordered one more screen by phone. For the online order I got one automated response confirming the order. The response included a customer service number to call. Yet, no hard completion date. No one called to follow up at all.

The sales associate who took my order over the phone couldn't give me an exact date. He said maybe 4-6 weeks - after I paid with my card. Wouldn't an ethical business make disclaimers upfront prior to the order? I should think so. I explained this is unacceptable. I called back within a few days to follow up. Another associate told me they could get the order by the end of the week. He explained typically the order could be handled quickly, however their shop had moved and production was down. Don't you think someone could have called me to tell me my order would be delayed? No. Not even a call to consult with me about my order.

To date, I have called countless times to follow up on my order. Have even sent two emails to the President Steve Trystan who is highly revered on his website in his industry, conscientious to the customer, ethical,  etc..

His personal bio is a story about success and faith.

I am typically not one to complain. Sharing this experience is out of the norm for me.

This all very unethical, and mind blowing.

Maybe its because I only spent around 381???

Who knows...

Briem Response

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

In response to the complaint filed by Bryan & Debbie Briem, it is our goal to produce every order to the satisfaction of our Customers, however in our business there are many variables that can go wrong and every so often it happens.

In the case of the Briem order, unfortunately we were in the process of moving at the time and it turned out to be a more difficult process than originally planned and that did have a bearing on the order itself. The customer initially asked for a rush order on 9/3 and a call was made to the number provided on 9/5 to inform them that the screens could not be rushed and it would take up to 4 weeks to produce. A detailed message was left on the voicemail.  The order finally was completed on 10/17 and we notified our customer immediately to let them know that screen doors were available for pick up as originally requested.  The customer requested that order be shipped out on 10/28/14.  We shipped out the order and was delivered to their home on 10/30/14.

At times our effectiveness in communication and production was not up to our normal standards during our move as our staff was stretched between maintaining production and moving vital equipment between the old and new shop. We are now settled in and have resumed normal operations and have completed all outstanding orders including the one for Mr. & Mrs. Briem. Best Custom Screens has and always will be committed to serving our customers to the best of our abilities.
