Complaint Review: Juan Borras Houses In San Antonio

Juan Borras Houses In San Antonio Landlord Running a Scam/ Caught in a Lie! San Antonio, Texas

Juan Borras, a "realtor" is running a scam.  His goal is to dishonestly withhold funds from security deposit in order to line his pockets or pay his property tax.

I did a walk through with Juan and he OKd the property for my full refund.  Then over a week later he says that there was dust under the stove and on the ceiling fan blade.  Therefore he hired a professional cleaning service and was charging me $100.

He lied and told me after the walk through he had done a more thorough inspection and had sent me pictures that night in an email.  He never sent an email nor when pressed could he resend or produce a printed copy of such.

As I have read other complaints about this man online and via my own experience I see he never had any intention of giving me back my full deposit.  Even though we did a walk through and even though I  scheduled the walk through before my lease expired so that if there were any issues I could correct them.

This man is unethical and dishonest!  BEWARE!

I find the report I just read very hard to believe.  I was a previous renter of a property that Mr. Borras had on his list of properties.  He and Mrs. Borras  were always very professional and ready to make our business association a comfortable experience.  They maintained the property properly and when I moved out my fees were properly used and returned where applicable.  I would gladly recommend Houses In San Antonio Real Estate to my family and friends because I know that they would be attended to in a proper manner by a very reputable company.

This is the email correspondence where Juan Borras needs me yet again to provide him with my forwarding address.  Notice how he states, "as required" as if it were my fault he did not have it.  For someone who claims to keep good records in his rebuttal this surely is not an example of such!

MY REPLY:
Indeed for the fourth
time I am providing my forwarding address.
1. I included my forwarding address in the
letter I sent informing you I would not be renewing my lease way back in mid February.  I have an email where you mention receiving this letter.

2.  I again provided you my forwarding address at the time of the walkthrough and if you are able to recall you said you lived in the same zip code.

3.  Last Thursday in the follow up email I wrote
you I once again included my forwarding address.  As you replied to that email
it is confirmed you have received it.

4.  Today for the fourth time I am providing you
with my forwarding address.

I am sorry to say that this is either harassment
or incompetence to keep requesting and being given my forwarding
address.
To withhold any of my deposit is an act of bad
faith and I will seek remedies.  The things that you listed as needing cleaning
fall under wear and tear and in no way justify $100 fee, especially after we did
a walkthrough which was scheduled in order to provide me with an opportunity to
address any last minute issues.

Along with this update I will be attaching a copy of the bad check written by Juan Borras/Houses In San Antonio.  It is concerning for a professional establishment to not know how to perform a walk through, not be able to keep record of key information supplied to them by their customer (tenant) and not be able to write a check correctly.

Also anyone who dares to do business with Juan Borras of Houses in San Antonio must watch out for his games and tricks!
After over a span of six weeks I had given Juan Borras my forwarding address he still had the audacity to write me and ask me for it reminding me of the property code in which I had to supply him with my forwarding address,  I had to provide him with my forwarding address FOUR times.  I am unsure if this was him harassing me or a sign of gross incompetence on his part.

When I do finally get my deposit check it is a bad check.  The amount written in numbers in the box and the amount written out in handwriting on the line do not match.  The check shows that one person wrote it and another signed it.  So two people at Houses In San Antonio are incapable of writing a check correctly or this is another trick?  My bank told me if I had of deposited the check they would of gone by the amount written out, which in this case was smaller than the amount written in numbers in the box.  This guy is bad news!  Trying to cheat down to the last moment.

BEWARE!

Tenant doesn't even have the decency to sign his/her name. Our files are well documented and processed accordingly. You just can't please them all no matter what.
