Complaint Review: Judy Hamblin

Beware of Judy Hamblin and her sister, Kelley Richardson, as I call them, "The Hometown Screw You Crew" who prey on folks who are down on their luck and trying to make a comeback. She gains their confidence, lures them into a deal that sounds good -- too good to be true, and you know where that goes -- nowhere, fast.

All I can say is that often-repeated phrase, "caveat emptor" - or "let the buyer beware."

You've really got to be sure you go over the contract and understand every nuance and wrinkle, and where your exposure may be. Trust me. I've watched as people I know have learned the heard way and been hurt.

Here's another little saying for you: "dot your i's and cross your t's, make no doubt, these two are thieves!"

The kind of deals she puts together lure you in, then she locks you in, then you've got nowhere to go.

And I'd encourage you, really encourage you, if you've been wronged by Judy Hamblin in your real estate transactions, you have power and voice. Complain to the Utah Division of Real Estate and/or to the Utah Association of Realtors. Realtors need to be licensed by the state. The state can pull licenses if enough warranted complaints get filed. Tell your story. And if you're about to enter into a deal with the Hometown Realty crew, be sure before you sign!
