Complaint Review: Junonia

Warning: Junonia does not respect customers' wishes to be taken off their mailing list. They do not respect the Direct Mail Preference Association's No Junk Mail list and they sell customers' contact information. The letter below tells the story.

Dear Ms. Kelly,

I am angry and disappointed that after being taken off your mailing list at my request you decided to put me back on a few months ago. I am now getting your catalogs perhaps once a week or more. I care about the planet and the 100 million trees that are killed every year for junk mail. I absolutely do not want to get junk mail. I do everything I can to stop it but companies like yours don't respect that and that's not o.k. I am also on the Direct Mail Association's preference list but your company doesn't respect that.

A few months ago a number of companies decided to resume or start junk mailing me in spite of my express wishes. That's not o.k. It would seem that you bought my address from a list vendor. I don't want to have my information bought and sold. I understand that Junonia sells your customer's information which is not acceptable either.

In the past a year or more ago, I asked at that time to be taken off your mailing list. I called a few months later to find out if I had been, because I was still getting catalogs. I was told that someone had made a mistake. I'll bet.

Junonia is positive in that it provides active clothes for plus-size women and uses them as models. I had left the door open previously to maybe ordering from you some time. Now it seems less likely. In spite of the image and PR, I find the things above to be dishonest and disrespectful. I hope you will find a more respectful way to do business. The earth would thank you too. I'm going to be publicizing this at consumer complaint websites.

Please make sure I'm being taken off your mailing list and not put back on.
