Complaint Review: Jupiter Jack

 I saw an ad for Jupiter Jack, that provided hands-free cell phone use in your car. The price, as advertised, sounded great.

I went to the website to place an order. The website asked for my credit card information, which I provided, followed by a series of requests for additional products. I declined all but one product.

 When I went to the next step of the order process, expecting to see the total amount (as usual with other online orders) and a chance to cancel or confirm, I got a "Thank you for your order" along with the amount that was ALREADY BILLED to my credit card. The amount was between 2 and 3 times what I had expected it to be. 

I then cancelled out of the "Thank you" screen and called the customer service number to cancel my order. The person took my information and said that this was informational and that I should call back tomorrow to ensure that the order had been cancelled.

 Not trusting the honesty of the Jupiter Jack company at this point, I called my credit card company and asked them to make sure that the payment does not go through. At that point, no charges had showed up at my credit card company, but I was told that I should continue to monitor my account to make sure that no charges were applied to my account.

This just happened today, December 22, 2009.
