Just Brakes My daughter is driving a 2002 Mazda Protege. I took the car in on 11/17/05 To have the brakes checked. I was initially told that the entire repair would be the advertised 99.00, but when Steve was done and I came to pick up the car the bill was $401.32. ripoff Houston Texas
I took our 2002 Mazda Protege in to have the brakes checked. I was told the charges wouldn't exceed the $99. The total charges ended up being 401.32.
I've had problems with the brakes since I've picked up the car, and have taken it in 3 times to have it checked. They say there is nothing wrong, however the whole steering column shakes when coming to a stop.
I need to know what to do to get my money back and to fix my car properly before my daughter (who normally drives the car) is hurt or hurts someone else!

Trust me you are not alone. I had a very similar instance where when my friend and I were driving we almost got into a major accident because the brakes were put on improperly to the point where there was a very loud noice and the brakes were not stopping.
First of all they told him it would be $99 for the brake job and then it end up costing almost $500 because they said that he needed the brake lines flushed and a hole bunch of non since that they didn't do. Well after we reluctantly paid the bill and got down the road the brakes were making a loud noise and we stopped at an auto shop and they said have the car towed. We didn't have the money too and so we risked getting injured to make it to the next Just Brakes that this time was a diffent Just Brakes that was only 5 miles from the other one and we were closer to at this point.
This guy replaced the brakes and it was working better, but still has a little sound coming from it. We took it back and they took it for a test drive and made up and excuse about the motor mounts being bad, not the brakes. That was bull but theres nothing I can do! The only advice that I can give you is to take your car to a different Just Brakes like we did and show them your receipt and they might fix your car, but don't get your hopes up because I doubt it.
Unless the brakes are very very loud sounding and obvious to hear from miles away don't get your hopes up on them fixing it. I know several people that have contacted many telephone numbers for Just Brakes and have really tried to get there money back but this is a horrible rip off company. They are all like this and all of the service workers are taught to rip off people.
They have been on Fox 5 News here in Atlanta and everyone is trying to stop them but so far they are still in business. I just don't understand how they cannot be took out!
