On Jan 21, 2003, I took my 1994 Plymouth voyager to the Just Brakes in Canton, Ga.. I knew I needed a front brake job, new pads and possibly new rotors. Then was told for $99.00 I could get front and rear done (pads, shoes and resurface rotors and drums if they were within limits). I knew I would need new rotors.

Well here's the deal, they get it in the bay and completely diassemble everything less the hoses and master cylinder. Then it turns out I had a broken wheel bearing on the rear, at least I was shown one. Total estimate close to $900.00, because now I need the following; 1.pads and shoes, turn drums and rotors, bleed and adjust system and inspect the balance of system for problems $99.88. 2.Both calipers $98.00 3.Both pistons $86.00 4.Hardware $39.95. 5. Shims $29.95. 6.Springs $39.95. 7.Both cylinders $146.64. 8.Two front rotors $182.24. 9.Shop disposal fee $15.00.
This comes to $737.61 not counting the $118.19 I spent to have the bearings replaced on the right rear. This totals to $855.80.

Having checked with the local NAPA store, parts totaled approximately $350.00. Now this job should take maybe 2 hours at $75.00 an hour comes to $150.00. So $855.80 vs.$500.00.

I e-mailed the corporate headquarters and explained the problem. The next day the manager (Mike Crow) called and left a message, I returned the call. He asked what he could do, I said give my money back, that I wasn't sure that bearing was broken when I brought it in. At this point he called me a liar and hung up $99.88

Hi

I am an ex-employee of Just Brakes. When I was with the company (less than two months ago)...Mr. Crow was part of what is called the Just Brakes "A Team" (center development team). In other words he is one of the men who instruct the store personnel in ripping off people. Apparently the J.B. location you visited had the "A team " in the store developing their personnel and instructing them in rip off techniques. You may want to call J.B. customer service and inform them that you know that you have been "A teamed". They may come clean..
