Just Brakes, RIPOFF as a Corporate Mission Addison Texas
I was surprised to see how many people had experienced the exact same rip-off scheme that I was subjected to!!!
I would normally replace my brakes myself, but I was working 7 days a week when they started squealing, so my buddy traded me trucks. He took mine to get the "$99" brake jog. I expected that when I got good pads and replaced the rotors (they were due for a change) that it would be a couple-hundred bucks.
THEY CHARGED ME $900 F%$#@&! DOLLARS!!!!!!!
My not so knowledgeable buddy let them rebuild the calipers, replace the pads, replace the rotors, replace the wheel bearings, and replace the dust seals. They wanted to change out the rear drums too!!!
They charged ~$90 dollars each for Timiken bearings. They're great bearings, and they cost about $25 at AutoZone...
They charged $20 for dust seals! The same high-quality seals will run you about $3 at AutoZone.
Crappy pads were priced way too high...
When I went there (FURIOUS) on my first day off, the manager showed me the pricing book straight from corporate. The outrageous prices are handed down from above!!!
Since my buddy paid cash for the work, I had little recourse. When I asked for a refund to more closely reflect REAL prices for the parts, I was told "You can buy an agg for 20cents, but it'll cost you $2 in a restaurant".
