My name is Tsgt. , im in the 164th Airlift Wing in Memphis Tennessee... I took my 1982 datsun 280zx turbo to "Just Brakes" in November, 2001... I did that because i had heard on ad on the radio several times about the "99.00 friction reline"

i went down to the austin peay store and waited awhile for my car to get in, but that was fine... what WASN'T fine was when they came to get me they said "mr doe because you have a 280zx,it wont be 99.00, but $37.00!

Why? because of my "resetable caliper pins" that only nissans have... GO FIGURE....i agreed after calling my wife....i sat there for 3 hours and then they came back and got me again.....this time, it was....."mr doe, your calipers are bad, your master cylinder is bad".....the 99.00 price now escalated from there to $1,150.00!

I was floored....my car cost me $1,250.00, EXACTLY 100.00 more than the brake job!.....they said they were replacing my master cylinder, all calipers, rotors, and brake hoses..i thought about it,called my wife ...so we used 3 credit cards and a check to cover it,and had it done.....,
2 months later, my brakes started acting up... squealing loud, and clicking in the back wheels... by this time though i was gone to afghanistan and my wife was stuck with the car! ...she took it back ...they said there was nothing wrong ...she drove it another week and i demanded she take it back there again, this time with my brother-in-law......

they replaced the brakes the car drove alright for another month, but this time the rear wheel clicking got much worse...she took it back again and they said "your equalizing valve, the one that distributes the brake pressure equally to all 4 brakes", was bad and it would be 744.00 to fix ...i very angrily insisted they fix my car!

they DIDNT and when i got home from there ...i took the car down myself ...they looked at the brakes and found one of their techs had put the wrong brakepads in the rear and the pins on the bottom of the pads were rubbing against the rotors!...they changed them out ...and now i just took the car backagain ....with the problem of my front brakes "grabbing",and holding pressure when my foot is NOT on the brake!

....they said its my brake booster...and it will be 366.52.....i drove my car to nissan, had them look at it and they said....your booster has no effect on the front brakes having pressure on them.....they said its either your front brake lines or the master cylinder ...i then took it to one more reputable mechanic who said the SAME THING

...what im left with is: if they repaired my car at all, they DIDN'T clean out the front brake line, i have a brand new defective master cylinder, or they scammed me, all with $1,150.00 out of my pocket, lots of aggravation, and the fact that they would screw a military member who defends the united states of america out of hard earned money i need for my children!

oh yes...if id have paid what they wanted...it wouldve totaled$2,400.00 for a BRAKE job!...i highly insist anyone wanting to form a class action suit....ill join in and someone please defend military members!

I was working as a "floating" store manager attached to the Austin Peay location when this car
was brought in...I am no longer with the company as I refused to be as fraudulent as they wanted me to be..

To begin with the personnel at the location did not have the foggiest notion what exactly was wrong with the T/Sgt's Nissan. They began a series of expensive guesses as to the nature of his problem with him paying every step of the way.
He wound up paying much more money for this series of "repairs" than if he had taken the car to a Nissan dealer where the techs had factory training. In fact according to the conversation I had with him the "repairs" far exceeded what he had paid for the car. All this done to a G.I. who was just returning from overseas duty.

The center manager was "licking his lips" as this vehicle came in ...knowing that he could contrive a fat ticket on an older model Jap car and proceded to walk the T/Sgt down the Just Brakes "way". He proudly calculated his 8% as he and his shop foreman guessed their way through this botched "repair".

The T/Sgt did not exagerate a thing in his report ...I was there..I saw it happen...Thank the Lord I'll never have to see this happen again.
