Just Breaks $99.88 is a total scam!!! Don't fall for it! Webster Texas
I usually change my break pads myself, but we bought a new Mercury Cougar and have a new born baby. The breaks went from fine to grinding. I knew the rotors would have to be machined because of this. I heard the $99.88 add on the radio, so I thought I'd give it a try. They told me my front breaks were wearing unevenly and they could not machine them. The calipers had to be reconditioned because of this. I found out that since my caliper has only one piston that this is normal wear. One of the rear break boots had to be replaced, and the list goes on. It ended up costing me $638. I would have told them to shove it, but my wife said to do it because we didn't want to have a problem since the new born would be riding in the car.
To add insult to injury the breaks squeak, and I get a bit of a grinding sound when I come to a complete stop. I took the car back in because of this and they said there is nothing wrong and the squeaking should go away. It hasn't at it's eating me up inside.
