I used JustAnswer.com and fortunately didn't have to pay for the information the ''expert'' probably copied off of the FTC web site.

I was asking for a tenant's rights when they have made arrangements with a landlord representative and the representative then evicts the tenant anyway.

My understanding is that #1, ''verbal 'contracts'' are worth the paper they are written on; i.e. worthless, and #2, that dealing with a representative, such as the property manager, very likely doesn't obligate the OWNER in any way if the manager doesn't have certain specified authorization for such acts.

The response I received was laughable to me, because it contained LESS information than I had, and I am not a lawyer or related in any way to having more information than the average consumer can find on their own.

It was almost a year ago that this happened so I can't remember the exact details, but I was rather insulted that this low life company thinks the average consumer can be so easily fobbed off with easily available FREE information.  If a true lawyer responded to my question, I wish I knew the name so I could avoid that person at all costs.

Seriously, the response was absolutely nothing more than FREE information a person can obtain regarding landlord/tenant issues at the library if needed, and definitely online.  I expected an informed, believable response.  When I didn't get it, I did dispute any payment being owed, and I was ultimately not charged at all.

However, JustAnswer did bug with more emails than I wanted to deal with in resolving my complaint about the answer, but I did succeed.  I STILL receive emails wanting me to come back and ask for more FREE information for a fee.
