There is
just something about justanswer.com that initially reeks scam and ripoff.
Perhaps is it the way the site is interfaced, childish and unprofessional. Your
initial hunch is true because the quality of service correlates with the
interface. I unfortunately ignored this hunch and stepped right into the sewer. By the way I did ask for a refund of deposit and received it.

After asking a question in medical category and getting a vague, wishy-washy
answer I explored the credentials of Dr. Landley who answered my question.

To my horror, Dr. Landley is located in India
and is not an MD, but MBBS (the BS part really fits).  His license issuing
agency is Assam Medical Council ( AMC- 14268 )

.

He has " Years
of experience in several fields of medicine. "  He also
is "VERIFIED" as an expert which means he paid a few bucks to a third
party verification company which took the money and replied to JustAnswer.com
that he paid the money so he must be OK.

This made me explore more of this scam. I found another "doctor"
calling himself Steven Baughman. It turns out Dr. Baughman is Dr. Jyoti. Dr.
Jyoti is not an MD but his degree is MS, or master's degree and his license was
issued by Indian Medical Council (AMC-13168) and who, surpise
surpise, is located in India !

It appears he
has changed his name back to Jyoti ( http://www.justanswer.com/profile.aspx?PF=11269312&FID=5 )
since I last saw his profile.

It turns out JustAnswer.com medical
category is swarming with Indian "medical experts" who have been "VERFIED" and
while some for whatever reason assumed western names, most of them stick to
their Krishna-given names.

Examples:

Dr. Saha http://www.justanswer.com/profile.aspx?PF=8227957&FID=107

Dr.
Bhumika http://www.justanswer.com/profile.aspx?PF=14756658&FID=107

If you
really want to give JustAnswer a try make absolutely sure you look at the profile of the person who is answering your question
and make absolutely sure they are licensed in the USA
and have MD or DO degree listed.
