I had been getting my eyebrows waxed at K and S Nails for several months and started getting bumps under my eyebrows.I asked them what it was and she said it could be because the wax was hot. I stopped getting my eyebrows waxed and the bumps kept getting worse so, I decided to go to the dermitoligist they did some testing.

When the results came back it turns out that K and S Nails had used contaminated wax and the bumps under my eyebrows were warts. The dermitoligist gave me medication, that dried out my skin and gave me scabs. K and S Nails put me through a lot of pain on my eyebrows because they chose not to use clean wax. Because of this it really scares me to get my eyebrows waxed anywhere.

At this time, the warts have mostly gone away (after about 3 months)however, I dont think K and S Nails should get away with giving me warts.

As a Licensed Esthetician I can tell you right now that warts are not transmitted via wax, clean or dirty or otherwise. You say the results came back that K & S Nails used contaminated wax? Are you saying the Dermatologist did testing on their wax or is that just the conclusion you jumped to? Warts are a type of infection caused by viruses in the HPV (Human Papillomavirus Family).

Warts on the skin may be passed to another person when that person touches their warts then touch you or you inadvertantly touch them. Waxers wear gloves when waxing. Besides, wax is not conducive for Viruses OR Bacteria to live in, as wax is kept very warm (If not downright hot at times). It is possible to get warts from using towels or other objects that were used by a person who has warts, which would most likely occur where you live, not where you get waxed.

Does anybody in your family, guests, friends have warts? If so, do you ALWAYS use a fresh clean towel and washcloth each and every time you shower or do you reuse like most of us do when the towel is hung back up and dry? You most likely caught your virus (warts) from another source. I have to admit this is the very first time I've seen someone claim they got warts from waxing and I've been in the beauty and skin care industry for 15 years.

So often nowadays people will be developing symptoms (from a pre-existing condition) and blame the last service provider they went to, which is unfair because I'm sure that 99.99999 percent of your time you were elsewhere (Not at their Shop) and warts (The virus that causes them) are rampant everywhere. You could have had the virus that causes warts for YEARS for all you know and just started developing the symptoms when you did, for whatever reason. The typical incubation time, between time of infection and appearance is 3 to 8 months, however, longer periods are possible.

In all fairness along with you now having facts you should delete your complaint. If not, I believe K and S Nails would have an iron clad lawsuit against you for slander & Libel. Check out familydoctor.org/209.xml for more information.
