k&b felt they had the right to keep my 2 final paychecks and also make wrongful and false entries on my dac report. i had given them notice and they couldnt even get me to there only terminal to turn in my truck so i deadheaded up there so i could catch my bus home.so they listed company loss on my dac and costing me the job i was attending oreintation for. and then they decided to add insult to injury and ripoff me over 800.00 dollars from my final paychecks. i could take them to court and win easily but that would cost thousands of dollars and i would still lose. but the worst thing is now im stuck with a damaged work history! this company has only 350 trucks yet has over a 300% turnover rate!! so if this will deter any future victoms from this joke of a job perhaps my mistake will not be in vain . best luck to all drivers!

Use common sense...statistics will tell you that the complaints on this site are just a small subset of the actual problems attributable to k&b.  This company is bottom of the barrel.   When I read the complaints here I can identify with everyone of them . If you go to work for this cheese factory you better bring lube.

About 2 months ago, I saw an ad in the paper for a local run from Omaha, NE to Kansas City, home every day. I called and was hired almost on the spot. I had to finish out the rest of the week with my current job hauling ethanol and other fuels. I hated to leave but I needed a job where I could be home everyday.

Anyways, I went to orientation and right away I felt akwardness toward K&B. They told one driver to leave because on his app, he listed a PO box for an address. They were very rude to him, almost scolding him like a child. He was a true trucker, drove for 10 years never going home, hence the PO box.

To make a long story short, The route they had me drive depended on another driver to relay with. I would leave home at 4pm+/-, relay in Mound City, MO, back to Omaha, NE and then deliver in Olathe, KS. 5 days a week for $825.00 salary. this sounds good until you break it down. 13-15 hours a day for $165/day. Mileage wise is about 23cpm.

After on week my old job called and offered me the position I wanted, I took it and called K&B right away and quit. I offered to return the truck to S. Sioux City, NE and have my wife pick me up, they told me to leave the truck at Tyson in Omaha. My first, and only paycheck with them came to $0.00. They charged me $300.00 to recover the truck, they didn't reimburse the hotel I had to stay at in Olathe, KS when my hours were long expired and my return load wasn't ready, and they didn't pay me for the full days that I did work.

So in summary, yes I did them wrong by quiting on such short notice, however they are a do anything, and say anything company just to keep the numbers. I would not recommend them.

Info for Donald regarding over hours

#8Consumer Suggestion

Donald,

That is the mentality that allows companies to treat drivers like crap and cheat them. It is because there are so many drivers who will operate unsafely and/or illegally and never do anything about it.

FYI...NOBODY can force you to operate past your legal hours. You do this by choice and/or because you don't have the balls to just say NO.

According to FEDERAL LAW the DRIVER has the ultimate responsibility to operate that commercial vehicle in a safe and legal manner, and to report any company that "forces" illegal operation.

Most drivers are just too desperate and stupid, so they just go along with it.

JUST SAY NO!

Vernon - Do you have any idea what you are talking about? There is nobody by the name of John that works at K&B Transportation, so what's with the false report? Being bitter and making things up just makes you look like an idiot.

K and B does lie to DAC and provokes drivers into bad decisions

John and the rest of that clan at K and B have the worst attitudes towards drivers I ever came across.

They get verbally abusive onQual-Com as I know to be a fact, they lie to DAC and fix things so a driver won't drive again.

They trully are a bad to place be. Drivers stay away from this group. Look around drivers there are some good ones to Drive for.

As I found out thru MS Carriers what a shame Swift bought them out.

First of all Tommy-Boy just how far did you deadhead that truck to South Souix City, NE 50, 100 or 1000 miles? Not only was K&B correct in their actions you should count your blessings they didn't have you arrested for truck theft or even highjacking. And another thing the ALLEGED $800 that was witheld from your final pay was probly to pay for the fuel, lost load, and damage that you did to the truck. And in closing from what I've read about you, as with my own experiances with K&B they are lucky not to have you anymore because your an Insurance claim waiting to happen, Transportation of suspended beef carcasses takes common sense, skill, and fairly strong nerves, I'm sure none of wich you possess! K&B is a good, fair company to work for, and they pay an honest paycheck for an honest week's work.
