I wanted to buy a new home but with the market as it is I had some questions.  Question when signing paperwork: "If your price drops on your homes before I take possession of the property will you lower the price of my home also?"  Salesperson's answer:  It is K. Hov's policy to apply the lower cost to customers if the price drops before closing.  I have even seen them do go back to customers and refund money after closing."

While the results on my loan were still being processed they dropped the price on my neighboring homes.  The Website reflected all the lower costs for the other homes.  Would they honor their agreement to lower my price - no.  "You already signed the contract, and the other homes are a sale price."  No evidence of a "sale" was listed on the website, just a lower cost.  What I was concerned about happened just as I had asked.  The thousands I already paid in upgrades they said I would not get back if I pulled out, as well as the thousands in deposit.

If you are buying from this company be sure to get every assurance in writting - they are dishonist!

Sounds like you're someone working with KHov...  After all, the contract is such an EASY read, and you can really tell it's surely NOT writen by lawyers! (humor intended)  And after spending a great deal of time going through the contract the problem was that this information wasn't in the contract, and thus I am doing my part to educate those in the same process.  Trying to make me sound dumb for posting by experience means you're probably not a buyer.  So plz, sush!

For the consumer who may be buying for the first time as I did, I hope you find my mistake a lesson you can learn from - if you have a question that's not stated in writting and it's an important question, get it in writting before you sign any contract or give them once cent!

Did this person not read his contract?  It clearly states that if the sales person shares something with you verbally it doesn't mean anything.  Shame on your for not getting what they said in writing.

Having purchased several new homes from builders all across the country.  Their contracts are the same -- it the sales person tells you something verbally it doesn't hold water.

Stop complaining about this company - I own one of their homes and love it.  My warranty person is at my home within 24 hours.

Now pull up your big boy pants and go on down the road - you did not do your due diligence.
