Good morning.  I'm a frequent player of Kabam's "Thirst of Night" game.  I'm also active on their forum.

Ever since May 31, 2012, the "Thirst of Night" world called Carpathian experienced some "instability issues".  Players reported having troops vanish, stuck marches, vanishing resources, and other problems.

A couple of hours ago, one of Kabam's Customer Support representatives, named Josh Kabam, posted two threads.  One thread addressed the "vanished troops", and the other was about the "stuck marches".

In both, he states that cheaters experience a lot more issues with game instability than honest players.  However, I've played for free this whole time and have done so without any "third party add-ons".  I've had troops vanish, resources disappear, troops didn't appear in the troop pool after being trained, stuck marches--the works.  I've been temporarily banned with no reason given, been allowed back in, and have still had the game being largely unplayable due to its issues.  I do the same slow data entry that many players use, and yet we're "cheats".

Some players buy the in-game currency, called rubies.  They've also had the same problems.  And Kabam sees fit to call them "cheaters" also.  Whether free or paying player, being falsely accused of "cheating"--all because of having game play problems--is upsetting.

This was done on their forum.  Now anyone that has problems with the game will be harassed in-world for "cheating", when that's simply not the fact in many cases.

All of Kabam's games should be avoided, as their respective forums are loaded with complaints.  When all you want to do is play a game and have a little fun, somehow "being branded a cheat" and hounded for it doesn't sound "fun".

New Information Regarding Josh Kabam's Libel of Users suffering from Game Play Problems on Thirst of Night

#2Author of original report

Tue, July 03, 2012

Good morning again.  I checked Kabam's forum for Thirst of Night this morning.  One of their forum moderators, I am Pestilence, posted the "calling players cheaters is not allowed" rule.  This was in response to players wondering why talking about cheating is being censored.

This is interesting, as Josh Kabam started two threads that basically called all players suffering from "game play problems" as "cheaters".  Yet the forum moderator has not done anything to Josh Kabam's two threads.

In the threads, Josh Kabam claimed that they were "running tests".  That would mean that they would have to go into the game and play it like regular players.  As per the forum rules, that means Josh Kabam would technically be a player.  And he was in direct violation of forum rules.  Yet, as of 7:34 a.m. Central time, July 3, 2012, those two threads are still untouched.  Yet other players have had their posts deleted, locked and/or edited to censor them.

I am Pestilence is fond of telling players that "This forum is privately owned by Kabam, but it's run by players and is for players".  Yet Kabam employees are allowed to be treated as "favorites", while the rest of the player base must "suck it up" and "deal with" being libeled.  The forum is already awash with agitated players after Josh Kabam's accusations.  The forum moderator isn't doing Kabam any favors by censoring the forum.

You can see just how Kabam treats its player base, both in the game and on the forum.  This is not how any reputable gaming company would treat its players.  Do not give Kabam any money to play their games.  In fact, avoid them entirely.  I only keep playing to document the sort of horrible things present in the game and on the forum.
