Lease/purchase trucking corporation. Operating under an umbrella of 11+ psuedo names.
Kaedon Steinert is " THE MAN" owner, president, director, ETC.
Located in a used double wide trailer behind slum lord house trailers.
FACTS/DISCOVERY
Contracts stating Kaedon Steinert INC., owns the trucks when they are owned by a leasing company.
Example of truck pymts., driver pays $3200 a month and leasing company charges him $1575.
Deducts monies that should be held in escrow. But he says it is his money.
Pays you settlements UPON HIS APPROVAL, when HE wants you to have money. Non-complying.
Repairs to equipment is his decision as to what can be done. But you pay out the nose for all items.
You have no idea what he is charging until you get your settlement sheet. You don't sign any work orders stating you are aware of charges.
Controls when and where you fuel/load.
Will allow you $25.00 a day for food if he is in a good mood. Illegally charges you $40-100 for advances.
We were with them for 3 yrs 11 mo's. Contracts on 2 trucks. We were retained as contractors, but treated like employees.
We had no free will. We have since discovered he (master) was charged and fined in 1998 for treating drivers like (servents).
When my husband,myself and 2 other drivers, confronted them about their non-complying business practices/fraudulant contracts and money skimming.
We were FIRED. (remember we are contractors) Kaedon Steinert took our trucks from us and quickly traded them in on other trucks.
He puts false statements on DAC'S.
OOIDA has a drawer full of complaints.
Drivers have lost everything they owned, as well as broken up marriages, because of their non-settlements,keeping drivers out for months at a time and forced(cheap)loads.
You might ask then why did you or they stay? The equipment was above the rest. We came here to buy trucks. We were fulfilling our end of contracts.
Worked 3 yrs 11 mos with no time off, to pay for these trucks.
Hurricane makes it impossible for you to do so.
Only 1 person has ever paid for a truck and it was an older ragged out model. The driver starved to keep it.
2 other drivers are nearing the end of their (bogus) contracts. Both trucks are old and ragged out. They too are going without decent settlements.
So much to say about this "corporation". I will respond to all.

And if the above was true, a civil court case seems
Slam dunk if you had any papertrail showing
Your payments and earnings and lease agreement
to show proof of them illegally seizing your truck.

i want to thank you for puting this report up it saved me from making a very bad decision. I was going to go work for Hurricane Express but now that i know what thay are all about there is no way im going to do that i just got married i can afford to have that happen to me so thank you.

Ex-Drivers I was informed, by my source that Kaedon, Sheldon and the rest of the office personnel, read these reports. KEEP reporting your experience's with this company, let potential drivers know just what they are getting into.
I agree w/other ex-drivers re: class action suit.

Two weeks ago Kaedon had his office help, make a phone call, to try and find out our location. Now, why would he, after a year plus of our dismissal?
Its none of your business, Kaedon. Nor, is it your mother, Kathy's!

I am correcting a previous statement re: John being fired.
My sources misinformed me as to why he is no longer w/Hurricane.
He was not fired, he decided to not renew his contract w/company.

I would like to retract what I said about JASON, HE IS AN INNOCENT party. he really has no control and says what he is told to say. I want to apologize for the previous statement.
RE: John. he has since been FIRED by Kaedon.
he was another innocent party. because he refused to make changes to logs sent in by drivers. before the DOT came into the office. he will be a valuable witness to the illegal practices going on at Hurricane.

Information I neglected to include.
One driver, completed his 4 year contract.
When he asked for the title, Kaedon, handed him a bill for, $56,000.00. GO FIGURE! FACT!
HURRICANE has NO intention, of a driver ever paying, for a truck! FACT!
Hurricane, does not care, about the drivers well being. FACT!
HURRICANE, will not give you PROOF of:
a) TRUCK PURCHASE PRICE. PAYMENTS and/or BALANCE.
b) TIRE ESCROW w/ interest.
c) Settlement-wk/mo/ytd figure's.
d) PROOF of LICENSE fee's.
e) PROOF of ADVANCE CHARGES.etc..
f) Shop rates
There is, no accounting, of the tire deductions.
This is an escrow account. But, when you ask about it, he says, " This is my money! FACT!
They charge you more than they can legally charge for advances. FACT!
They, do not pay, in the required time frame. re: Truth in Leasing Rules and Regulations. FACT!
I, personally know, just one driver, who RECEIVED his final settlement. That is in the 3 yrs 11 mos we were there. 02-06 FACT!
They have been and still are, in violation of most Truth in Leasing Rules and Regulation Laws. FACT!
Our truck, a white w/purple Pete,96" bunk, was used in their advertising. We dressed the truck w/our money. When we were FIRED, we removed everything, we placed on the truck. All items that were, on the truck originally, was placed in their shop for safe keeping.
When they STOLE our truck, they then charged us, for those items. FACT!
*Both trucks that we STILL HOLD contracts on, were traded, in to Joplin Peterbilt and are sitting in the used truck lot.

Hurricane, at one time, had good freight. But, when Kaedon, started his own in-house brokerage, he opened an office in the same vicinity, of the companys he used to haul freight for. FACT!
Then tried to take, their customers from them. FACT!
He fired one of his in-house brokers because, this person caught on, to how KAEDON ran his business, and lied to the "contractors".
We were not allowed, to be told, by brokers, what the loads paid. Our discovery, that he was skimming, was by accident. When we confronted Kaedon about this, he replied. " Well I have to pay my office help don't I?" FACT!
So THEY take off the top, as well as 25%. FACT!
CONTRACTORS? I don't think so. More like EMPLOYEE!
I think the IRS would be interested in that statement, don't you?

*I read, the other complaint's regarding this CORRUPT company, and most of the statements were true.
Only 2 people hold a CDL. Kaedon and John. Neither have experience in over the road driving.
*Sheldon Steinert, is Kaedon's brother. He is Kaedon's "take care of it person". In charge of "TYPE up this NEW POLICY". Has several trucks leased to his brother, but hold's no CDL.
*Stephen, " the in-house chicken acct person. NOTE THIS ACCT is also SKIMMED OFF THE TOP BEFORE CONTRACTORS KNOW RATE!" came from RMX, as did
*Jason "the recruiter". Will tell the driver anything to get them in a truck.
*Kathy Steinert mother of the two boys. Job: payroll. She's in charge of getting Kaedon's approval as to which drivers get paid and when.
*Brandon the ex-mechanic now office dispatcher, really don't know what he is qualified for.
Then there is *John, the safety person.. John is all knowing and know's nothing. FACT
The above persons named, all know of the illegal practices and will do NOTHING to stop it!!!!
FACT THEY ARE JUST AS GUILTY !!!
