Complaint Review: Kal Kalim

Wow... where do I even begin... this has been a several month long nightmare with Kal Kalim. Firstly, Kal Kalim Manipulated me into doing freelance video work and delayed payments once finished (still have not recieved all funds promised). He has also lied, and continuously lies about invoices being paid and tries to cheat his way through the industry burning the youth without paying for their hard work which has taken hours on end. He also Scams his way around payment discussion and demands work to be completed without paying for previous projects.

If you ask anyone he’s worked with -you would see a pattern. He has a proven track record of screwing people in the modelling and freelance creative industry (particularly within Adelaide). Everyone who I know who has also worked with him in the past has vowed to never work with him again due to numerous failed promises and unpaid invoices - all for which work was delivered, approved, and monetised by Kal. When work is completed and sent through, he will 90% of the time ignore it for a few days and reply back demanding changes.

When times get tough he will make you feel special so you get manipulated into being scammed and doing more work without getting paid. He sucks people into his world. Lots of mind games and manipulative tactics looking back on everything and how it panned out. Kal consistently shows nasscistic tendencies through his work and his personal life. Through my experience, He only cares about himself and constantly promises people that they will do amazing things and go to amazing countries worldwide and work. It’s like a broken record.

Kal gets everyone excited and uses it as emotional leverage to get people to do what he wants. He tells you that if you can work with him you will be able to get consistent payments so that you can step away from your standard job. Again promises are always broken and you can be left with a empty wallet for up to 6 months and beyond... in some cases you will never see the money ever. Which is what I’m currently experiencing. A colleague of mine who worked with Kal had to wait several months and go through with legal action to ever see the money.

Kal never shows real intent to pay what he owes. He intentionally targets young freelance talent because he knows he can get away without paying them and recieve work from his promises. He preys on the ones who are new to the marketplace and don’t know everything so he can be their "friend and mentor”. Also knowing young freelancers will not be able to place a law suit against Kal because they have limited to no money. He targets them because they are naive. It’s as simple as that, why wouldn’t he just hire professionals to do the jobs? Because he doesn’t aim to pay, and maybe he has some kind of fantasy with the youth. We don’t know there... but it’s not good. And quite scary. I hope that you’ve found this article before working with Kal Kalim from adelaide. I wish I heard about this prior to working with him. It’s been a nightmare.

I hope this helps to deter young aspiring freelancers and industry professionals from working with Kal Kalim. We don’t deserve this, especially from someone who is well-off and doesn’t need to take advantage of the little people, but still does. It’s disgusting and shouldn’t be happening. One day it will come back to bite him, someway, somehow.

You just can’t prey on the youth and gain from their work while leaving them stressed and broke, in debt, and feeling hopeless - it’s not on. Not in this country at least. All in all, there should be a photo of Kal kalim in the dictionary under the word con artist and scammer. I have screenshots of all conversations giving undeniable proof that everything I am saying is factual. Please take note of this warning. I wish I did.
