Complaint Review: KALAS Research Services

Just received a letter with a "check" for $3800 as I'd been selected to be a Secret Shopper. The check is drawn on the KALAS Manufacturing Incorporated account at Heritage Bank in PA.

KALA Manufacturing Incorporated does exist, but KALAS Research Services does not. The letter instructs to call the number I listed to activate the check, then I am to send the majority of the money, through Western Union, to "our-training agents in a different location."

Thanks to ripoffs, I didn't fall for the scam. The check is printed on plain paper, but other than that, looks like a legitimate check. Though I haven't checked, I suspect the account number doesn't exist.

The phone number given for KALAS Research Services, located in Decatur, GA, is a Canadian number.
