4 years ago I decided to look for another teaching job so I answered an ad posted in Camden County, New Jersey for a teacher, there was no job available. I was harassed for the next 4 years by placement coordinators looking to fill either low paying or part time positions. I am very experienced with an MEd. If I wanted a $12 an hour job in Philadelphia, there are tons of them out there. My father was in the intensive care unit. Still, I would receive calls about taking a job. I made it very clear to the person calling that it was NOT a good time, please do not keep calling. My father passed away. I was trying to meet with a doctor to have my father's organs donated, I still received phone calls. It is incredibly inconsiderate to keep phoning someone whose loved one has died.  I recevied at least 3 phone calls a week. Every single time I asked the person calling to please NOT contact me anymore. I received emails and it wasn't until I wrote a threatening email back that I would hire an attorney for harrassment did it stop.

A very long time ago the owner of this company phoned me from Manhattan. She was extremely rude and argumentative going on and on about how wonderdul her agency is. I was told all about how my career would flourish if I used this agency. The truth of the matter is, it is a temp agency. This temp agency does not check a teacher's background. On 3 occasions I had to work with people who were hired from this agency. They were either fired or played on their cell phones all day. One of the teachers did not have an emergency certificate. She was told she could use her out of state cert. to teach. The school I worked at had expected that this was taken care of.  There are many small to medium businesses out there that are wonderful and do a phenomenal job. If you really want to do temp work then please do not do it at this agency. They will never find you ful time work. The reason being is that a temp agency only makes money when someone is working. They make more money when you get crappy pay and no benefits. The most you could possibly make a year is $25k without benefits. You cannot collect unemployment as a teacher in the summer. You are better off as a long term sub or moving out of state. If you are school looking to hire someone perhaps you would be able to find an employee if you were to offer a bonus instead of giving the money to this temp agency.
